December 11, 1999, North Bergen, New Jersey.  Calamba Association of Greater New York, USA celebrated their third annual Christmas Party Dinner-Dance with a Show Spectacular starring Gloria Papin, a Filipino international recording artist with a surprise Guest Start, Aileen Papin, her sister.  The party was held at the Top of the Meadows (Penthouse) of DAYS INN hotel and restaurant in North Bergen, New Jersey.  Close to 200 people attended the affair.  The majority

of the women that attended were wearing long gowns.  It goes to show that women like to dress up for this affair, although a cocktail dress was acceptable. 

The theme for the night was the commemoration and celebration of Filipino Custom of utmost respect for parents and elders.  This was reflected in the current president's welcome address.

The night was also dedicated in honoring three Calambeņos who distiguished themselves.  The awards were for those Calambeņos who are leaders in their field that makes every Calambeņos proud to call them Kababayans.  The awardees were Dr. Teodorico Arambulo for his excellence in the field of surgery, Engr. Mario
